Create and manage gift cards for your Backoffice and Eshop

Updated over a month ago

A Gift Card is an inventory product item.

Gift Cards can be added to your Eshop as inventory items and sold like any other product.

Each Gift Card Voucher sold is assigned a unique code. This code can be applied to the total amount of an order, either by the customer or by you. Only one code can be applied per order at a time. Expiry dates and usage limits can be set during the Gift Card's creation. For a range of values (e.g., $10, $50, $100), create a separate listing for each value.

Gift Card codes can also be provisionally generated through the Voucher Menu in the Backoffice or during Checkout; however, these do not count as inventory items.

Gift Card item and listing settings are managed from it's inventory item page.

A Gift Card's activity and spending is managed in the Vouchers Menu.

Create an Eshop Gift Card Product

  1. Select (+) Add an item

  2. Select Add a product

  3. Tick the option This is a gift card product

  4. Enter essential item information (marked with an *) and others as needed.

  5. Submit.

The Gift Card Product is now added to your inventory.

For a range of values of Gift Card ($10, $50, $100...) create a listing for each value. This item can be added to a Checkout for a customer at your physical shop, or purchased online through your Eshop (if listing is Published).

Creating a Gift Card Code at Checkout

You can add a Gift Card product to a Point of Sale checkout, and a unique Gift Card code will be automatically generated upon submission, provided the checkout is paid for and marked as collected.

  1. Open a new Checkout

  2. Search and add your Gift Card product to the checkout

  3. Add Payment Type

  4. Assign A Customer (if required)

  5. Mark As Collected

  6. Submit

Once submitted, the newly generated Gift Card code will appear in the item line of the corresponding order, where it can be managed further. If a customer has been assigned at checkout, the code will then be automatically emailed.

Vouchers Menu

The Voucher Menu provides a centralized location to view, filter, and manage all vouchers, including gift cards and coupons.

With options to filter by status, expiry, and type, you can quickly locate specific vouchers. Key details like original value, balance, creation date, expiry date, and associated user activity are displayed in an organized list.

You can also monitor spending activity for each voucher, track usage, and view linked orders. Here you can also Delete and Deactivate vouchers.

In an Order, if you click on the Gift Card code, you can view further details and management options.

Gift Cards added through the Voucher Menu are not added to the inventory. Only a code is generated.
