How to setup Shipping options for my Eshop

Updated this week

Edit Shipping options

When you start a Common Ground Eshop, you have different options available when it comes to what you can propose to your customers in terms of Shipping.

To edit your Shipping options:

  1. Click on Eshop Editor from left Main menu

  2. Click on Checkout from Eshop Editor Menu

  3. Go to the Shipping Policies tab.

  4. In the Shipping Policies section, click Add a new shipping policy.

  5. Click Create Policy to save your changes

Allow customers to collect their orders from the Shop

Ticking this box will make the Shop Collection available from your Shipping options at the checkout of your Eshop. Users will be able to select that option to pick up their orders later directly in your shop instead of asking for a shipment.

Allow basket to be placed as New Order and set shipping price manually later

Ticking this box will allow users to submit their Basket without having paying. You can then edit their order freely and set up the Shipping price manually.

Once the order is set up and locked, you can send them a message to check their order from their account on the Eshop and pay directly from there (or via any other payment method you agreed on).

πŸ‘€ Tip: This option is highly recommended for distributors as it allows a lot of flexibility on orders modifications after someone has placed their basket.

πŸ›ŽοΈ Reminder: When activating this option, you don't need to set up shipping policies for your Eshop.

Package extra weight percentage

The number in this field will be used to add an extra percentage on the orders total weight to anticipate for the package's weight when shipping.

Shop collection phrase to display

The sentence in this field will be displayed at checkout when users will be asked what shipping option they want to choose.

Methods

You can create as many methods as you want for a Shipping Policy.

Method Name

The method name will be displayed on the Eshop for the users to select. For example, it could be tracked UPS or standard Shipping.

Method Type

The method type will define on what you base the thresholds and different steps of your method on.

There are three types:

  • Quantity

Your method will be based on the total amount of items in the basket.

From X to Y items in the basket, you will have to pay Z for Shipping

  • Weight

Your method will be based on the total weight of the basket.

From X grams to Y grams in the basket, you will have to pay Z for Shipping

Common Ground calculates the total weight of your basket automatically based on the weight informations available for each item. Don't forget to add an extra weight percentage if you need to take the package in account for the calculation.

  • Basket Total

Your method will be based on the total amount in currency in the basket.

From X euros to Y euros total value in the basket, you will have to pay Z for Shipping

Thresholds

The thresholds are defined by the method type you've choosed. According to the method type, they will be in number of items, in grams or in euros.

To add a new range:

  1. In the method, click Add range below

  2. The From field is automatically filled with the next above value based on the To field from the range below

  3. Fill in the To field with your next threshold value

You can add as many ranges as you need.

If the continuity of the method is not respected (meaning there are ranges with unknown price) you will not be able to save your method. Make sure the continuity is respected.

You can have as many methods as you need on a single policy.

To add a method to an existing policy:

  1. Click add new method below the existing methods in the policy

  2. Name your method

  3. Choose your method type

  4. Fill in the thresholds and ranges
