Connect payment processors and add payment methods

Stripe

Stripe is a payment processor that enables you to process various forms of payment including most credit and debit cards (such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, China UnionPay payment, Bancontact, Sofort), E-currency wallets, and bank transfers.

You can view a full list of available payment methods processed by Stripe on their website. To use Stripe, you will need to create an account with Stripe and then connect it to our platform.

Connect your Stripe account to Common Ground

  1. Navigate to Eshop Editor> Checkout > Payment Methods in the left menu.

  2. Click Connect with Stripe

  3. Follow the prompts to login and access your account. If you don't have a Stripe account, you'll need to create one in order to proceed.

  4. Select the payment account you want to use to process your Stripe payments and click Choose account.

  5. Following a successful connection, you will be redirected back to the Common Ground Backoffice.

Add payment methods with Stripe

Create and Edit payment method configurations for your connected account on the Connect payment method setting page. During checkout, Stripe automatically shows the most relevant payment methods based on a customer's location.

Available payment methods with Stripe

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a digital wallet, a mobile payment service by Apple, that allows customers to securely make payments on their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Essentially, customers can use digital wallets to pay online with a saved card or a digital wallet balance.

Google Pay

Google Pay is a digital wallet platform and online payment system developed by Google to power in-app, online, and in-person contactless purchases on mobile devices, enabling users to make payments in your app or website using any credit or debit card saved to their Google Account, including those from Google Play, YouTube, Chrome, or an Android device. Essentially, customers can use digital wallets to pay online with a saved card or a digital wallet balance.

Note: To set up Apple Pay, Google Pay payment methods with Stripe for your website, you'll need to add and verify your domain name from Stripe. The domain name verification file will be automatically handled by our services.

Klarna

Klarna is a buy now pay later method that enables customers in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. These payment options make it convenient for customers to purchase items in all price ranges.

Afterpay

Afterpay Clearpay is a buy now pay later method that enables customers in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US to pay 4 installments.

Bancontact

Bancontact is the most popular online payment method in Belgium, with over 15 million cards in circulation. Customers use the Bancontact card or mobile application in conjunction with a Belgian bank account to make secure, guaranteed online payments with immediate confirmation.

Giropay

Giropay enables customers in Germany to pay directly via online payouts from their bank account. Customers are redirected to their bank's payment page to log in and approve payments.

Sofort

Sofort enables customers in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain to pay via direct online payouts from their bank accounts. Customers log into Sofort's payment page to approve payments.

Paypal

PayPal is a payment method that allows customers to pay using their PayPal account, regardless of the country in which they are located.

Attention: To set up Paypal payment method with Stripe for your website, you'll need to add and verify your domain name from Stripe. The domain name verification file will be automatically handled by our services. If you wish to connect your PayPal account via Stripe, additional fees will apply.


PayPal

To integrate Paypal as a payment solution for your customers, a Paypal Business account is required. You must manually add credentials (aka Tokens) provided by Paypal on their developer tools website.

Log in and follow the steps to retrieve the tokens consisting of one line of text for Client ID and another for Secret ID. You can follow along in the video below:

! Important: Make sure to have Live tokens activated, and not Sandbox tokens, otherwise the following error will be given at during checkout:

Once you have accessed your tokens, copy and paste them into to the corresponding fields in the Payment Methods menu. Press Submit and your PayPal integration should be complete and ready to use.


Payfast

South Africa's most popular payment platform allows you to make ultra-fast, ultra-secure online payments from virtually anywhere in the world, so you can focus on running your business.

Enter in the corresponding fields:

#Merchant ID / #Merchant Key


Iyzico

Iyzico offers a secure, simple and beneficial online and offline shopping experience without the need for a bank account.

Enter in the corresponding fields:

#API key from the merchant settings / #Secret key from the merchant settings


Payze

PAYZE is an effortless way to make online payments. The service provides various technical solutions that allow you to manage your payment processes in a snap.

Enter in the corresponding fields:

#API key from the merchant settings / #Secret key from the merchant settings


Cash in advance

Accept cash in advance payments for bank transfer payments or other manual payments.
Orders placed with Cash In Advance will be set to Invoice Sent and will require manual editing when payment is received.

! Important: Cash in advance will not be available when the Place Basket option is enabled.
