Connecting Google Analytics to your Eshop

Before connecting Google Analytics to your Eshop (Dashboard), you must first create an Analytics Account and Analytics Property. Here's how:

  1. If you already have a Google account, sign in with your email address and password. Otherwise, click on the Create an account button and follow the prompts to create one.

  2. Analytics Account Setup: Once you are signed in to your Google account, click on the Admin button to create a new Google Analytics account.

  3. You will be asked to provide an Account Name and review some data sharing settings. Click Next.

  4. Property Setup: Create a Google Analytics 4 property to measure your web and/or app data. Give your Property a name and adjust the time zone and currency as needed. Click Next.

  5. About your business: Fill in the required fields and click Create, then accept the Terms & Conditions to continue.

  6. Open the Data Streams menu and add a Web Stream by inputting your Website URL (the URL for your Eshop). Save and close this menu.

Now that you have created an Analytics Account, you are ready to connect Google Analytics to your CG Dashboard.

  1. Within the Google Analytics Eshop settings, click the Sign in with Google button.

  2. Choose the account you used to create your Analytics Account.

  3. CG Dashboard will prompt you for access to your Google Account - click Allow.

  4. You will be redirected to the Backoffice, where you will now see the Analytics Property you set up in the previous section (step 5). Select this Property.

Your Common Ground account is now connected to Google Analytics.

Events list

The following events are recorded with your connected Pixel and Google Analytics account:

  • begin_checkout: as a user leaves the Eshop and begins checking out

  • add_shipping_info: when a shipping method is selected at checkout, shop collection is marked as "collection"

  • add_payment_info: when a user has selected a payment processor such as Paypal

  • purchase: when a user has completed a purchase with payment

Add a Meta Pixel tag

  1. Create or locate your Pixel in Meta Events Manager

    • Go to Meta Business Suite → Events Manager → Data sources → Pixels.

    • If you don’t have one yet, click “Add” → “Connect Data Source” → “Web” → “Facebook Pixel” and follow the prompts.

    • Copy the Pixel ID (a 15- or 16-digit number).

  2. Insert the Pixel into your Eshop settings

    • In your Common Ground backoffice, go to Eshop Editor → Settings → Analytics.

    • Paste the Pixel ID into the designated field.

    • Save or enable the Pixel integration.

  3. Verify the Pixel is working

    • Use the Meta Pixel Helper browser extension (by Meta) to check that the Pixel fires on pages and captures events.

    • In Events Manager, check Diagnostics and Overview to confirm data flows.
