All the features related to Discogs

You can connect your Discogs account in order to manage multiple tasks with Common Ground:

  • Fetch releases informations from Discogs database

  • Import listings from your Discogs Inventory into Common Ground

  • Put listings on your Discogs marketplace from Common Ground

  • Import orders from Discogs into Common Ground and manage your orders from Common Ground directly

Make sure to read this section carefully if you wish to connect your Discogs account and manage your orders with Common Ground.

The Discogs API has limitations, and managing Discogs orders from the Common Ground Backoffice is different from managing them directly on Discogs. Some of these limitations concern the amount of requests we can send to their API, as we cannot exceed one request per second. Therefore, we have configured our systems as follows:

  • We only scan for new orders on your Discogs profile every 30 minutes.

  • We only scan the last 20 orders on your Discogs profile.

  • We only update orders that are beyond the last 20 orders when you open the order page on CG.

  • We cannot import messages that aren't in an order.

  • We do not support merging orders on Discogs profile.

  • Items will be hidden on Discogs market place if they are sold out from your backoffice

Discrepancies in stock may occur from time to time due to these limitations, although they are rare. However, there are tools available to check for such discrepancies on a regular basis.

Tip: If you are concerned that an order has not imported correctly check to make sure that the Common Ground Discogs ID number matches the Discogs Release Code number.

If you receive the following error Discogs Import Error : Not enough stock or listing not found for release: X this may be the reason.

Auto-List on Discogs

"Auto-list" is a feature that (by default) automatically lists your pre-order items on Discogs when their availability date is reached, as pre-order items will not be listed prior to that date. To disable auto-listings, tick the "Disable Discogs auto-list" box within the listing editor.

Once an item is listed on Discogs, the only way to remove it is to click the "Unlist" button. Changing the availability date or its pre-order status will not have any effect.
